Edward Kipton is an agent with the FBI, who investigated Matt Williams, brother of Detective Danny Williams for defrauding clients out of millions of dollars. Kipton is confronted by Danny and his partner Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarret in the episode Loa Aloha (episode), where Kipton refuses to share information about Matt's case. So, Steve calls Governor Pat Jameson in order to get the information out of Kipton. Later in that episode, Kipton is in Matthew's hotel room, after Danny had tipped him off of the investigation. To buy time, Danny lies about Matt's location, and then goes after him himself.
